How do I make a donation to the Department of History?

There are several ways to give to the Department of History. Giving online is the easiest and most common way. Using Pitt's secure giving Web site, https://secure.giveto.pitt.edu/ashws.php., designate your gift to the Department of History. To donate by mail, either:

  • Send your check to University of Pittsburgh, Records Management, Park Plaza, 128 North Craig Street, Pittsburgh, PA 15260; or
  • Make the check payable to the University of Pittsburgh and enclose it with the pledge card. If you would like your gift to be allocated in support of a particular department, program, or scholarship, please indicate this on the pledge card.

You can also use your Visa, MasterCard, or Discover card to give a gift or a pledge by phone by calling 1-800-817-8943.

Gifts of securities are another way to support the school. The process is easy and can be done electronically.

Lastly, you may also invest in the future with a planned gift—a charitable contribution that is arranged with forethought, either to be executed over an extended period of time or at some point in the future. Planned gifts are a popular method of giving because they can provide powerful tax benefits and sources of income. Learn more about planned giving.
