PhD research topic:

My proposed research concentrates on eighteenth century Habsburg cartographic projects and their relationship to administrative, military, and financial imperial reforms. I plan to analyze the role of Habsburg cartography in the process of imperial consolidation and expansion by focusing not only on an imperial level, but also on a provincial and a trans-imperial one.
