Research Interests

My dissertation project is an environmental history of race and space in the Black Hills region of the Northern Plains. I examine continuities between the reservation system and segregation of Native American neighborhoods in the urban American West during the nineteenth and twentieth centuries. My secondary research interests include the history of medicine and presentations of history in video games. I have taught at the University of Pittsburgh since 2017.
