Minor in History

Option One:  Regional Focus

  • Lower Level Survey - 6 credits
    • Any two lower level History survey courses (0001-0999)
  • Upper level – 9 credits
    • Three 1000-level courses in the same area as one of the survey courses. 
    • Students cannot “mix and match” the 1000-level courses based on both lower level courses.  All three 1000-level courses must be in the same geographic region. 

Option Two:   Global Understanding

  • Lower Level – 6 credits
    • Any two lower-level History survey courses chosen from the 6 categories below. (0001-0999)
  • Upper level – 9 credits
    • Choose 3 1000 level courses from the following areas.
    • Africa
    • Asia
    • Europe
    • Latin America
    • Middle East
    • Global or Comparative

Option Three:   Thematic

  • Lower Level – 6 credits
    • Any two lower-level History survey courses (0001-0999)
  • Upper level – 9 credits
    • Three upper-level courses that constitute a thematic concentration. These courses will be chosen in consultation with the major advisor
