Matt Plishka Receives Beveridge Research Grant from American Historical Association

Our graduate student Matt Plishka has been awarded an Albert J. Beveridge Research Grant from the American Historical Association. The Beveridge grant supports research in the history of the Western Hemisphere (the United States, Canada, and Latin America). Matt will use the grant to further his research on his dissertation project, which explores how smallholders, planters, and colonial officials in the British colony of Jamaica responded to one of the worst plant diseases in world history: the Panama Disease of the early twentieth century. Congrats, Matt!
