Dr. Jesse Olsavsky is 2023 Harriet Tubman Prize Finalists

Congratulations to our former doctoral student, Dr. Jesse Olsavsky, who is a 2023 Harriet Tubman Prize Finalists, for his book The most absolute abolition: runaways, vigilance committees, and the rise of revolutionary abolitionism, 1835-1861 (Lousiana State University Press, 2022). In 2019, Dr. Olsavsky successfully defended his doctoral dissertation, "Fire and sword will affect more good:" Runaways, vigilance committees and the rise of revolutionary abolitionism, 1835-1860", supervised by Dr. Marcus Rediker and Dr. Niklas Frykan. Dr. Olsavsky is an Assistant Professor at Duke Kunshan University, Jiangsu Province, China.
