I’m a first-year student in the University of Pittsburgh’s History PhD program. I completed a BA in History and Law, Criminal Justice, and Society at the University of Pittsburgh in 2025, where my research focused primarily on efforts made by the so-called “Five Civilized Tribes” of American Indians to acculturate in the mid-19th-century. As an undergraduate, I worked at the University’s Center on Race and Social Problems (CRSP) and the Frederick Honors College’s Office of Social Innovation on a project that aimed to develop a gamified civic learning platform.
I also worked at and served on the advisory board for Pitt’s student-run radio station, 92.1 WPTS-FM. Following my graduation from Pitt, I spent a year working in the rock-climbing industry and volunteering with Southwestern Pennsylvania Climbers’ Coalition (SWPACC) to aid in the sustainable development of climbing areas in and around the Pittsburgh area.
Now that I’ve returned to Pitt, I’m excited to be working alongside Dr. Alaina Roberts and Dr. James Hill to study 19th and 20th century American Indian history with a particular focus on the relationship between Native American Nations and outdoor recreators.
